Title

Court's personal jurisdiction over parties

Definition

This category covers issues about whether a court has the ability to hear a case involving a person or organization, based on where they are located or whether they have contacts with this court's jurisdiction. This is called 'personal jurisdiction' -- that regards whether a court has the authority to decide claims about this party if they aren't located in the same jurisdiction.
